Yes, absolutely. Children are taught conflict resolution first. In a situation where they are forced to defend themselves they are taught how to take down and control even larger opponents without hurting them.

Everyone starts jiu-jitsu as a white belt. To be promoted, each belt has 4 stripes to be filled, when those stripes are filled you become eligible to be promoted. The stripes are achieved through frequency and technical improvements.
No. Each person is different, we respect the individuality of each student. But a couple of things are required for all including consistency and technical knowledge.
No. Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art based on leverage and immobilization, no strikes are used.
Students will need a mouthpiece, jiu jitsu shorts, rashguard, jiu jitsu gi aka kimono and a white jiu jitsu belt. All of those items are available in a package for purchase to get started at Ricardo Demente Abreu BJJ.
